WorkNode handles tax payments for your work. Tax is deducted from the amount you invoice your client, excluding VAT.
By default, WorkNode makes a standard tax deduction of 30% from your salary. This works well for many people, but depending on your total annual income, municipal tax rate, any secondary income and other deductions, your actual tax may be higher or lower.
You can adjust the tax yourself directly in your profile settings. You can select a tax rate from 30% to 50%.
In Sweden, tax is based on tax tables issued by the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket).
The tax table that applies to you depends on factors including:
- The municipality where you are registered as resident
- Your age
- Whether you receive pension or salary
- Your level of income
Your employer normally uses the tax table applicable to your registered address to calculate preliminary tax on your salary. You can find your applicable tax table through the Swedish Tax Agency's tax tables.
If you have several employers, your own company, pension or other income at the same time, it may be advisable to adjust your tax to avoid residual tax.
If you want to pay less than 30% tax and have a tax-adjustment decision from the Swedish Tax Agency, WorkNode can apply the tax rate in that decision. The decision must clearly state that the adjustment applies to salary from WorkNode Freelance AB.
If you have a tax-adjustment decision or want more than 50% of your income to be taxed, contact us at support@worknode.se.
