Travel
Commuting to the workplace as an expense – is it allowed?
For freelancers who invoice through WorkNode without their own company.
Not approved
No, journeys between your home and your regular workplace cannot be added as an expense.

Why?
Commuting counts as a private cost, not as business travel.
Good to know
- You assess your regular place of work using the Swedish Tax Agency’s rules. It can, for example, be at a client where you work for a long period.
How it works through WorkNode
The expense is booked by WorkNode as your employer. If the cost is private, it counts as a benefit, and you would then pay tax and we would pay employer contributions on it. That is why we only approve costs that belong to the assignment.
