WorkNode PRO - fixed monthly fee for freelancers who invoice a lot
Freelancers who invoice a lot have long paid high percentage fees on each invoice. Now we are launching WorkNode PRO—a model with a fixed monthly fee starting at SEK 995, where you can invoice without a company and without giving away several percent of each assignment. Everything is included: employer responsibilities, salary, insurance, and pension.
Why we are launching WorkNode PRO
For many years, self-employment and "invoicing without a company" have meant one thing in practice: you pay a percentage fee on each invoice. For those who are trying out freelance life or doing occasional assignments, this may be acceptable. However, for established consultants who invoice SEK 25,000–150,000 per month, the percentage fee quickly becomes a hidden freelance tax.
We think it's unreasonable that those who work the most should also pay the most in fees. That's why we're launching WorkNode PRO—a model that gives you the security of a self-employment company, but with clear and predictable costs.
What is WorkNode PRO?
WorkNode PRO is our fixed-price model for those who:
invoices recurring monthly
want full control over what your self-employment costs
want to avoid percentages on every invoice
Instead of a percentage fee, you pay a fixed monthly fee starting at SEK 995. The rest of the invoice amount is used for salary, tax, social security contributions, and the services included. You invoice without a company via Worknode, but keep a larger portion of what you actually invoice.
How does WorkNode PRO work in practice?
1. You invoice without a company – we are the employer
Just like with WorkNode FLEX, you are employed by Worknode when you use WorkNode PRO. We:
invoices your customers with F-tax
assumes full employer responsibility
pays taxes and employer contributions
ensures that you are covered by collective agreements and insurance policies
The difference is how you pay for the service. With PRO, you have a fixed monthly fee instead of a percentage of each invoice.
2. Fixed monthly fee instead of a percentage of each invoice
In a standard self-employment model, you often pay around 5-6 percent on each invoice amount, sometimes more with various additions. If you invoice SEK 80,000 in a month, the fee can end up being SEK 4,000-5,000 or more.
With WorkNode PRO, you pay a fixed monthly fee. The rest of the invoice amount goes toward salary, taxes, and social security contributions. This makes it easier to calculate your hourly rate, easier to plan, and you avoid the feeling that the percentage is "eating up" your high-earning months.
3. Same security as in WorkNode FLEX
WorkNode PRO is not a stripped-down version of our service. You get the same basic security as in our percentage model:
salary with A-tax
vacation pay
collective bargaining agreement
group life and occupational injury insurance
Support in labor law and agreements when you need it
The difference is that the model is designed for those who make a living from their assignments and want fairer pricing.
Who is WorkNode PRO best suited for?
WorkNode PRO is designed for established freelancers and consultants who:
bills at least SEK 25,000–30,000 per month
works regularly for the same or several clients
want to avoid the feeling of "leaking" several percent on every invoice
wants employer responsibilities, insurance, and payroll services without starting their own business
This applies, for example, to:
IT and systems developer
technical consultants
designers, copywriters, and strategists
interim consultants and project managers
If you mostly do one-off assignments per year, WorkNode FLEX is often the right level. But when your assignments become more stable, WorkNode PRO is built to give you more, not less.
Calculation example - how much can you save with WorkNode PRO?
The figures below are simplified examples, but illustrate the principle.
Example 1: SEK 50,000 per month
Suppose you invoice SEK 50,000 excluding VAT per month and use a self-employment company that charges a 5.5 percent fee.
5.5 percent of SEK 50,000 = SEK 2,750 per month in fees
That amounts to SEK 33,000 per year.
With WorkNode PRO, you pay a fixed monthly fee instead. When you exceed a certain billing level, the fixed fee simply becomes more advantageous than a percentage rate.
Example 2: SEK 100,000 per month
With SEK 100,000 in invoicing and a percentage fee of 5.5 percent:
5.5 percent of SEK 100,000 = SEK 5,500 per month
In one year, you will have paid 66,000 SEK in fees.
The point is not the exact figure, but the principle: the more you invoice, the more the percentage models cost. A fixed monthly fee means that the cost stops growing in line with your turnover.
What is included in WorkNode PRO?
WorkNode PRO includes everything you need to invoice without a company and get paid securely:
Invoicing with F-tax to your customers
Employer responsibility and handling of labor law
Payroll administration and payment of wages with A-tax
Vacation pay and handling of social security contributions
Insurance linked to collective agreements
Support with customer agreements, job descriptions, and questions about terms and conditions
You don't have to start your own business, but you are treated like the professional freelancer you are.
How to switch to WorkNode PRO
If you are already using WorkNode FLEX
If you are an existing Worknode user, you can:
Log in to your account
Tap Upgrade to PRO in the lower left corner
Review your billing level and see which package suits you best.
Switch to PRO for next month
The change only affects how you pay for the service. You will continue to invoice without a company just as before, but with a model that is more advantageous when you invoice a lot.
If you are transferring from another self-employment company
You can continue working with the same customers as before. The difference is:
the invoice comes from Worknode instead of your previous self-employment company
you get more left over when your bills get bigger
you will receive support in planning a smooth transition
For your customers, it is still a regular invoice from a Swedish company with F-tax. For you, it means a more sustainable pricing model.
Why we believe fixed pricing is the future of self-employment
We see that more freelancers want to build long-term stability: stable income, pension, insurance, and a clear "back office" that takes care of the administrative tasks. At the same time, they don't want to pay increasingly higher freelance fees just because they are successful.
With WorkNode PRO, we want to:
make it more profitable to grow as a freelancer without starting your own business right away
create an alternative to the percentage fees that have dominated the industry
For those who invoice a lot, offer a model similar to how other professional services are paid for—a subscription with clear value.
Frequently asked questions about WorkNode PRO
What is the difference between WorkNode FLEX and WorkNode PRO?
WorkNode FLEX is our percentage-based model where you pay a fee per invoice. WorkNode PRO is a fixed-price model for those who invoice more and want a clear monthly fee instead of a percentage on each assignment. Both models allow you to invoice without a company and get paid by Worknode.
When is WorkNode PRO more cost-effective than a percentage fee?
It depends on how much you invoice each month. Generally speaking, the more you invoice, the more advantageous a fixed price model becomes. Contact us and we will go through your figures and show you where the break-even point is for you.
Can I switch back to FLEX if I want to?
Yes, you can change models if your situation changes. If you receive less billing for a period of time, FLEX may be more suitable. The important thing is that you have a pricing model that suits your current situation.
Do I need to start my own business to use WorkNode PRO?
No. The whole point of WorkNode PRO is that you should be able to invoice without a company. Worknode is your employer, has F-tax and takes on employer responsibility. You receive a salary, insurance and collective agreements without running your own company.
Can I use WorkNode PRO if I have customers outside Sweden?
Yes, in many cases it is possible to invoice international customers via Worknode. Contact us with your specific assignments and we will help you find a solution.
